The question is not how to survive, but how to thrive with passion, compassion, humour and style. – Maya Angelou
As a self-taught, it is tough out there. However, I thrive and I’m at my happiest when I can work on an idea and explore possibilities. The dream is to work on meaningful projects day in day out; unearth and establish new ideas and overcome challenges to deliver a product that brings value and joy to the user.
TL;DR: I’m ultimately driven by this purpose: to craft sophisticated, visually stunning solutions to help people and design for positive change – keeping in mind intention, authenticity and functionality.
Former language teacher. I studied and taught French and Spanish which sounds like a wild career change although think about it, isn’t visual language just like any other form of communication? I ended up enjoying creating resources far more than being in a classroom. Two of the (many) things I’ve taken with me: empathy and curiosity.
Photography has been and always will be my constant. I’ve been taking copious amount of photos ever since I can remember and have scattered them all over the internet – Flickr, Tumblr, Myspace, DeviantArt, the list goes painfully on.
When I’m not working, I love to travel (read: eat my way around the country), pretend I’m fit and go for a hike, learn Dutch (I’m trying), go to a music or food festival, meet new people and learn something I didn’t know yesterday.
